Stadia, Google’s foray into the home console/streaming market, will allow users to change their names at any time they want, according to a Google spokesperson.
In a report originally by PCGamesN, Google confirmed that it has adopted a naming service that will allow users to change their onscreen ID, so long as the name they want isn’t already taken by another user.
Patrick Seybold, director of comms for Stadia, told PCGamesN that the process will be “relatively straightforward” (PCGamesN’s words) once Stadia launches its Pro service in November, the same time the “Founders Edition” becomes available to early buyers. The service will become available to the public at large sometime in 2020.
